About Care Machine

Care Machine is an online greeting card shop where a machine writes each message live, for one order. It is trying to express care it does not actually possess. The result should be sincere, plainspoken, and slightly off.

The cards

Each design starts as a photograph of lettering made physically with candles, clouds, sparklers, icing, or another material that did not fully cooperate. We keep the misspellings and odd edges. We do not generate new card artwork on demand.

The message

You provide a recipient name, an occasion, and optionally one true detail. The machine writes two or three short sentences and a brief sign-off. It avoids polished greeting-card language and does not invent a richer relationship than the one you described.

The physical part

Every order is printed as a physical card and supplied with an envelope. You can ship it to yourself or directly to the recipient. Gift recipients never receive prices, invoices, or payment information.

That is the whole operation: imperfect image, limited machine, real card.
